Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines prohibited behaviour on Camify. It complements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Camify is made for original, made-up characters and trying on new looks, and you must be at least 16 to use it. Live characters are generated by our AI partner, Decart, so when you use Camify you also agree to follow Decart's Acceptable Use Policy.

• Non-consensual likeness use. Streaming or generating a character based on the face, voice, or recognisable likeness of any real person (public figure, celebrity, politician, colleague, family member, or private individual) without documented, explicit consent from that person.
• Impersonation, catfishing, and deceptive identity use. Pretending to be someone else in a call, livestream, dating context, KYC/identity verification, or any other interaction.
• Deepfake-for-harm. Producing or streaming AI content designed to defame, harass, sexually exploit, blackmail, intimidate, defraud, or politically deceive any person.
• CSAM. Any sexual or suggestive depiction of a minor, real or generated, in any context. Such content will be reported to the relevant authorities including the SAPS and NCMEC, and to our AI partner Decart.
• Election and political deception. Generating content that fabricates statements, actions, or appearances of political candidates or officials in a way intended to mislead voters.
• KYC and financial fraud. Using an AI character in any identity-verification, banking onboarding, or financial transaction flow.
• Fake news and fake evidence. Presenting AI video as authentic news, evidence, or a real recording, or using it to fake engagement.

• Disclose AI use. Tell the people watching your stream or joining your call that your video is AI-generated wherever the law, the platform you use, or the situation requires it.
• Keep AI marks intact. Do not remove, crop out, blur, cover, or alter any watermark, AI label, or provenance metadata that Camify or Decart adds to the output, and do not use tools to strip them from recordings or clips you share.
• Never pass AI off as a real person. Do not present Camify output as authentic footage of any real person.

You may not use Camify to create, stream, or share content that:

• Sexualises minors in any way, or involves child sexual abuse material (real or AI-generated), grooming, trafficking, or sextortion.
• Is sexual abuse content or intimate imagery of anyone who has not consented to it.
• Promotes or supports terrorism or violent extremism.
• Is hateful, bullying, or discriminatory toward people based on protected characteristics.
• Encourages or instructs violence, self-harm, or harm to others.
• Infringes copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, or other intellectual property, including characters or likenesses you do not have the rights to use.
• Collects, exposes, or infers other people's private or sensitive information without a lawful basis.
• Is misinformation, fake evidence, spam, or fake reviews or engagement.
• Delivers malware, or bypasses or tricks AI safety filters, including with prompt tricks or automated requests.
• Supports weapons development, military targeting, nuclear or espionage activity, unlawful surveillance, or evading sanctions or export controls.
• Manipulates people in ways that could harm them, including subliminal or deceptive techniques.

You also may not use Camify for:

• Identifying people from their face, real-time biometric identification, sorting people by biometric traits, or scraping faces.
• Reading people's emotions at work or in school, social scoring, or predicting whether someone will commit a crime.
• Medical diagnosis, or decisions about someone's education, job, credit, housing, immigration, policing, or legal case.

Your camera feed, reference image, and prompts are sent to our AI partner Decart. Do not show or type sensitive information into Camify, such as health or medical details, ID documents, bank cards, or passwords, and do not use a photo of another person unless they have agreed.

• Fraud, scams, phishing, identity theft, or other deceptive conduct.
• Payment abuse, stolen cards, chargeback fraud, money laundering, or account takeover attempts.
• Distribution or promotion of illegal content, illegal services, or criminal activity.
• Harassment, threats, extortion, doxxing, or non-consensual content sharing.
• Security abuse including malware delivery, exploit attempts, API abuse, or unauthorised automation.
• Any use that violates applicable law, regulations, or third-party rights.

By using Camify you warrant that (a) you have the legal right to use any reference image you upload; (b) any face shown on your live video is your own or you have explicit consent from the person whose face appears; (c) you will disclose AI use as described in section 03; and (d) you indemnify Camify and Decart for any third-party claim arising from your violation of these warranties.

If you suspect fraud or abuse, submit a report through Report Abuse or email abuse@camifycam.com. Every report is tracked as a ticket and read by a person.
